Haynes Happenings.
The people of the district met at Mt. Joy school Friday evening and enjoyed a shadow social. A postoffice was one of the features and valentines were delivered during the latter part of the evening. A very good program was rendered, including dialogues, recitations by the young folks, and last, but certainly not least, several delightful songs by Mr. Edwin Holmes. Mrs. Holmes played the accompaniment. O. O. Jr. and lady and Miss Moore of Black River were present. Rev. Wilson of Harrisville was also present and Miss Holmes of Haynes.

After the young ladies were auctioned off we had supper and adjourned in the wee sma' hours, well pleased with the entertainment. It was one of the best ever rendered in the township and everyone appeared to be well satisfied.
