Jas. Fettes Passes Away
At His Home Sunday

James Fettes was found dead in bed at this home in Haynes Township early Sunday morning. He had not complained of illness, and had been picking blackberries on Saturday. Death was caused by a heart attack.
Mr. Fettes was born in Gray County Canada, on July 15th., 1875. He came to Alcona County with his parents in 1886 and has since made his home here, following the lumbering and farming industry. He was married 31 years ago to Miss Florence Vanalstine, of New York. To this union seven children were born, viz: Mrs. Dorothy Bell, Port Huron; Mitchell, Kenneth, Wilfred, Victor, Eugene and Fay all at home. The widow, and his mother, Mrs. Sarah Fettes, seven children and two sisters Mrs. Henry Beaton and Mrs. Agnes Campbell survive. There are also one grand-child, eleven nieces and nephews surviving.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Haynes Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Vincent officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in Mt. Joy Cemetery.
