Laid to Rest.
The following is taken from a lengthy obituary sketch published in the Arenac Independent of Apr. 19. The subject was father of Robt. Dobson of Haynes who was present at the funeral.
Robert Dobson died at his home in Johnsfield April 12, after an illness of a few weeks. Mr. Dobson was born in Ireland in 1827, was 68 years of age. He emigrated to Ontario, Canada, in 1846, and was married Jan. 14, 1852, his wife surviving him. They have 12 children, eleven of whom are still living. His wife, six sons and five daughters are left to mourn the loss of a true husband and kind father. Thirty-five years ago he and his wife joined the M. E. church of which he was ever since a member.
Mr. Dobson was a very quiet man, a good neighbor and honored by all who knew him. His funeral took place on Sunday and was conducted by the Orangemen.
