HE CHARGED $350.
Captain of the Sigison Asked That for Rescuing the Atlantis.
Capt. John Pringle who took the tug Sigison to Detroit this week, appears to be having a lively time of it. The Sigison was sold by the Thunder Bay River Boom Co. to Detroit parties and Capt. Pringle was engaged to take her down. When he reached Harrisville he found the steambarge Atlantis ashore, went to her relief, and succeeded in releasing her, charging $350 for the services of the tug. This is $50 more than had just been paid for the tug. There is some doubt about the tug being able to collect such a large amount for a few hours' service. It is also charged that the captain towed away a sail boat from Alpena which did not belong to him, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest upon complaint of Casper Alpern. It is claimed, however, that Capt. Pringle borrowed the boat from a man who had it in charge, and the warrant may be withdrawn. Pioneer.
