It is undoubtedly in entire accord with the custom of this section to subject a newly married couple to all the horrors of discordant sounds usually produced at a Charivari party, the object, of course, being to thus compel the happy bridegroom to purchase quietness by "setting 'em up" to the boys. But the circumstances hardly justify the length to which the charivari of Monday night was carried, and much indignation is expressed on all sides at the wanton manner in which some reckless individual discharged firearms.
