Death of Della Franklin at Springport.
OBITUARY.
Miss Della Franklin, who died at Springport after a lingering illness of ten months, was born at Clio, Mich., Dec. 17th, 1867, and was nearly 21 years old at the time of her death. Her sufferings, which were intense most of the time from the beginning of her sickness, were borne with fortitude and patience remarkable in one so young. She realized that she was passing away and had made her peace with God. She was an affectionate daughter, and in her loving and thoughtful care for her parents when in health, leaves an example worthy of imitation by her many youthful friends. The home is lonely now, and never will be quite the same to them again, yet they sorrow not without hope, but know if they love the same Saviour they will meet their loved one where parting will come no more.
Rest for the toiling hand,
Rest for the anxious brow.
Rest for the weary, waysore feet,
Rest from all labor now.
Rest for the fevered brain,
Rest for the throbbing eye;
Through those parched lips of thine
No more shall pass a moan or sigh.
Ye dweller of the dust,
Awake, come forth and sing;
Sharp has your frost of winter been,
Big bright shall be your spring.
'Twas sown in weakness here,
'Twill there be raised in power;
That which was sown an earthly seed
Shall rise a heavenly flower.
W. D. and A. Franklin,
Springport, Oct. 10, 1888.
