A Testimonial of Respect Placed on the Court Records.
Yesterday morning in Judge Pike's court room James E. Pilliod arose and in the presence of the Lucas county bar, read the following, which was ordered placed upon the court records by Judge Pike:
Testimonial.
James E. Hunt, a member of the bar of Lucas county, O., died on the 16th day of August, 1888, at this home in this city. By his death a life promising in all that went to make up a true lawyer, the earnest Christian and honorable man was cut off. Possessed of abilities of no common order, studious in application and zealous in the pursuit of knowledge in his chosen profession, polite and affable to all, he bade fair to occupy and ornament high and distinguished places at the bar and in the community. While, perhaps, not intimately known to the majority of the members of the bar, his death creates a void in the ranks of those who knew and appreciated his many grand qualities of head and heart.
May it please your honor to order this slight testimonial to the worth of our departed friend and brother to be entered on the records of this court.--Toledo Commercial.
