Marriage of Ralph E. Miller and Mary Viola Potvin on 6/3/1930.
MILLER-POTVIN WEDDING
EVENT AT BLACK RIVER
The wedding of Mary Viola, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Oscar Potvin of Black River and Ralph E. Miller of Haynes was solemnized Tuesday morning in St. Gabriel's church, Black River. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. W. Delehanty, pastor of St. Anne's parish, in the presence of the immediate relatives and friends. The bride was accompanied by Miss Lorraine Miller, niece of the groom and Joseph Potvin, brother of the bride, acted as the best man. A wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride.
The bride has always lived in Black River, where she has many friends and the groom has been teaching District No. 1 school near Black River for four years. Mr. and Mrs. Miller will make their home in Haynes for the present, it being the groom's intention to attend school this summer.
In the evening at Curl's Hall in Black River a free dance was given by the groom for all his friends who cared to come--and they came in droves. Upwards of 300 people attended and gave the happy young couple a rousing sendoff.
