DIES IN ANN ARBOR

William Hastings, sixty years of age and a native of Alcona county, died Friday, June 20 at Ann Arbor where he was in University Hospital for treatment preparatory to undergoing an operation for internal goiter. He had been in poor health a long time and sometime ago went to Detroit and Ann Arbor seeking relief.
Mr. Hasting was born February 2, 1870 in the village of Alcona and resided in the county all of his life, being engaged in lumbering and farming. He is survived by his widow, who was formerly Miss Betsy Willabee, and nine children. The children are Mrs. Wm. Cummings of Harrisville; Shirley, William, Mrs. Lavina Gilbert and Bessie, of Detroit; Mrs. Roy Campbell, Robert, Ida and Hazen Hastings of Haynes. Three brothers, Robert T. of Harrisville, Joseph of Two Harbors, Minn., and George of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Jos. Miller of Harrisville and Mrs. Austin Amesbury of Knife River, Minn., also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the home in Haynes to Mt. Joy cemetery. Rev. C. M. Boyce officiated.
