Run Away Accident in Haynes.
On Friday afternoon about 4 p. m. Mrs. L. L. Mills and her son were returning from Alcona in a single buggy. They passed Robt. Hasting's team standing at Geo. Ritchie's gate. Geo. Hastings had been driving the team and left them untied with their heads toward home. When the buggy was about 70 rods past the lane they heard the team coming but did not notice that there was no driver. The team was running away and sprang at the buggy ad dragged it about 27 paces, when the team fell and stopped. The boy got out only slightly hurt, but his mother was lying with one foot in a wheel of the buggy and her head close to a horse's hind foot. The boy got the team by the head but had to let go to get his mother loose. She then crawled out and in great pain walked a few steps and sat down on a log. Somers and Hastings got to the place and Mr. Somers hastened back and got his horse and buggy, took her to his house and then drove to Lincoln for Dr. Trask. On the doctor's arrival he found she had two broken ribs, one severe bruise on the left leg and several slighter ones in other places. Mrs. Mills has suffered a lot of pain but is better at time of writing on 13th inst. Mr. Mills is taking care of his wife at Mr. Somers.
