New Red Ribbon Club.
Last Friday evening, the old Red Ribbon Club was dissolved and a new Club, of the same title, was organized. For some considerable time the members of the old Club had ceased to work together harmoniously, and evidently but very little good was apparent as the result of its existence; hence, this lamentable feature, together with a dead load of members delinquent for dues, since the organization of the Club, led to the step and change mentioned.
The new club starts out with bright hopes and fair prospects, and it is greatly to be desired that it shall prove a medium through which may come more good to our fallen fellow man, than was ever characteristic of the previous organization. This Club will keep in running order a free reading room, under the efficient charge of Thomas Budworth, who will also provide lunches or warm meals to any persons who may desire them.
We hope to see no strifes or dissentions among the members of the new Club, but hope all will work together harmoniously as one common brotherhood, and consummate the glorious work which the red silken emblem presumes to indicate.
