Speaking of the death and burial of Daniel McLaren, who was killed at Au Sable last week, by a piece of timber falling upon him from John Gram's tram, the News among other things remarks as follows:
"Mr. McLaren Lleaves a widow who is inconsolable at her sudden and terrible loss, and she is entitled to and has the deepest sympathy of a large circle of mourning friends. The funeral took place Thursday afternoon, in charge of the Royal Templars and Masonic fraternity, he being an honored member of both societies.
We believe the Tyler of the grand lodge has admitted him, and that clothed in a lambskin our brother is squaring his work before the Great Worshipful Master in the East."
