Obituary.
Died--At Scottsville, N. Y., February 9, 1883, Rosalie E., wife of Henry F. Colwell, of Harrisville, aged 35 years.
Mrs. Colwell, then Rosalie E. Hooper, was born at Scottsville, N. Y., January 18, 1848. At the age of 20 she was united in marriage to Mr. Colwell, and with her husband has been a resident of this village a little over two years. For a year past she had been more or less indisposed, being a victim of the dread disease, consumption, and thinking to gain strength, left just before the close of navigation last fall for a visit among friends outside.
She first visited an old school mate at Cleveland, and went from there to Scottsville, visiting with her sister. During the past few weeks she had been visiting with Mrs. Robinson, an old acquaintance, at their hotel, and where she was taken seriously ill. Mr. Colwell was telegraphed for, and started Tuesday, the 6th inst., arriving at her bedside the following Friday, but a few hours before she died. The funeral took place last Monday, and she was buried near the place where she was born. B. S. Colwell, of Portville, N. Y., a brother of H. F. Colwell, with his wife, and Geo. W. Colwell of this place, were among the friends who attended the funeral. Although not a member of any church society, Mrs. Colwell was a regular attendant, when health would allow, of the Presbyterian church in this place and of the Methodist church at her old home.
Mr. Colwell returned this morning to his duties in Harrisville. The Review joins with his many friends in expressions of heartfelt sympathy in his sad bereavement.
