A Sudden Death.
Mrs. Austin Backus died very suddenly at her home in the township of Gustin Sunday morning, after a brief illness of but a few hours. The lady attended the dance at Agricultural Hall in the village of Harrisville on Thursday evening last. She had but recently recovered from an attack of la grippe. The following day she was taken ill but no serious consequences were anticipated until Sunday morning when it became apparent to her husband that she was very ill. A neighbor was called in and a physician was summoned but she had expired before the latter's arrival. Deceased was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Anthony and was not yet 20 years of age. She was united in marriage to Austin Backus in 1892. A little daughter, a child of 7 months, survives. Her sudden death is a sad blow to her parents, her husband and her many friends, as she was held in general esteem.
The remains were brought to the South Harrisville cemetery Tuesday where they were placed at rest in the family lot.
