Mrs. Robt. Johnson, one of the old pioneers and relict of the late Robt. Johnson died Sunday morning at 8 o’clock. She had been ailing for some time and was under Dr. Henrey’s care. She leaves a family of 3 boys and 3 girls and a host of friends. The funeral was held Tuesday from the Presbyterian Church, interment at Mt. Joy Cemetery. Rev. L. H. Stevens of Harrisville officiated.
Jane May Story was born in Belfast, Ireland, March 11, 1830 and would have been 74 years old by her next birthday. She came to Canada when 14 years old and married Robert Johnson in 1851. Mr. Johnson died June 10, 1891. They came to Alcona County in 1867. Deceased was a member of the M. E. Church nearly all of her life.
