A new LSS inspector is appointed for the 9th and 10th districts.
Life-Saving Stations.
Lieut. S. M. Landrey, of the revenue cutter service, has been detailed as assistant inspector of the ninth and tenth life-saving districts, and will soon be in Detroit to relieve Lieut. J. C. Moore, who has been filling that position three years. Lieut. Landrey is about 30 years old, and is a graduate of the training ship Salmon P. Chase, which makes its headquarters at New Bedford, Mass. He graduated in 1888. The master of the bark at that time was Capt. Daniel B. Hodgson, now commander of the revenue cutter Fessenden. Hodgson says that Landrey is a fine fellow and will make a capital inspector. His field of operations will comprise Lakes Superior, Huron, Erie and possibly Ontario. It is not known where Lieut. Moore will be ordered, or whether he has received any instructions.
