GREENBUSH.
Hiram Delano, father of Mrs. John Code, and an old and respected citizen died here Saturday evening as the result of a fall less than a week before his death.
On Monday 9th inst., Mr. Delano was working about the yard when he slipped on the ice and fell striking heavily upon his face. At the time the hurt was not thought dangerous but later in the week it developed into congestion of the brain from which he died.
The deceased was born near Rochester, N. Y. April 12, 1820. While a young man he came to Mich. And for the past twenty two years he has lived in Alcona county, thirteen of which has been spent in Greenbush.
The funeral service was held from the house Tuesday afternoon and the large attendance shows the esteem which was held for our departed friend.
