Margaret M. Crick
Margaret M. Crick, 81, of 3503 S. Third Avenue, died Tuesday (Oct. 19) at Alpena General Hospital.
Margaret Miller was born in Haynes Township on Sept. 26, 1912, and was a lifelong resident. She married Elden G. Crick in Ohio in April 1932. He preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1963.
She graduated from Central Michigan State University and earned a master's degree from Michigan State University, and taught elementary school in the Alpena area for 31 years, retiring from Ella White School in 1973. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Retired Teachers Association; the MARSP; the Founder's Society of the Jesse Besser Museum; and was a Delta Cappa Gamma charter member.
Surviving are two daughters, Sally McHugh and Mary Spence, both of Alpena; a son, J. Michael of Harrisville; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean (Mrs. Orville) Burger of Barton City. She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and a grandson.
Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Thursday at the Bannan Funeral Home, where a parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Joseph Graff will conduct a funeral at St. Bernard Catholic Church at noon Friday.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorials: St. Bernard Renovation Fund, the Michael S. Crick Scholarship Fund, or the Community Foundation of Northeast Michigan.
