Waterlogged at Sturgeon Pointe.
The Sturgeon Pointe life saving crew answered an early call Wednesday morning from the schooner Aurora, coal laden from Cleveland. Capt. Nahrstedt says they sprung a leak off Point Aux Barques but they kept her on her course until she waterlogged off Sturgeon Pointe. The crew from the station helped her to a position on the reef where she rested easily in 13 feet of water. Alpena was telegraphed for a pump and tug. Captain Nahrstedt tho't he could get off without serious loss if no sea commenced running. The vessel is valued at $5,500 and had a rating of A 2 1 2 in Lloyds. Her cargo consists of 400 tons of coal for the Canadian Pacific railway.
