A sad accident occurred at Alpena Tuesday morning last which resulted in the death of James Walker, a mason. Walker was working on the ground in a refuse burner, when a piece of iron weighing several hundred pounds fell from the hands of workmen twenty feet above, striking the ground on its edge and tipping over, crushing Walker up against the side of the burner. He was released as quickly as possible and taken to his home where he died at noon of same day. He leaves a wife and two children.
