JOHN REID DEAD

John Read, an old resident, suffered a stroke of paralysis and is practically helpless at the county house.
Later--Mr. Reid died Wednesday afternoon. He was 86 years of age and had resided in Alcona county about thirty years. His wife died only a few weeks ago.
Mr. Reid cleared and resided on the farm known as the Reid farm at the foot of Beever hill and lived there until a few years ago when he sold out and expected to return to England. Subsequently he changed his plans and remained here. He has no near relative in America, but there is on son in England, a retired soldier.
The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock a the farm.
