WILDER B. HOGUE
--------
Civil War Veteran Answers the Last Roll Call.
--------
Wilder B. Hogue died Saturday morning, Jan. 22, at 3:00 o'clock at his home on Huron Ave. He had been in feeble health a long time when he was taken with a severe attack of la grippe, which resulted fatally.
He was born February 18, 1834, in Ohio, and therefore was nearing his 82nd birthday. He came to Harrisville in the early 60s and was one of the boys of Company E, 23rd Michigan Inf, who enlisted from Harrisville for service in the Civil War. It is said that he is the only member of his company that served all through the period of his enlistment and never missed a roll call.
He is survived by the widow and four children: Mrs. Pinder of the Upper Peninsula, Bert, George and Mrs. Thomas Anderson of Harrisville.
The funeral was held Tuesday at home, Rev. C. M. Boyce being in charge.
