Death of Daniel Campbell.
DAN CAMPBELL, 86,
DIES SUDDENLY MAY 28
--------
Daniel Campbell, 86, a resident of Alcona county for about sixty years, died suddenly this (Thursday) morning at the home of Wm. Slater in Haynes, where he has been living since his home in Harrisville burned down last April 24.
Mr. Campbell came to Alcona county in the early 70s from Canada and never moved away. He was employed at Black River during Alger, Smith & Co.'s regime, and after coming to Harrisville he remained in charge of the D. & M. pumping station until a few years ago he was retired under pension.
Mr. Campbell was married three times, his last wife (Mrs. Jane Rivard) having passed away about four years ago. He is survived by one step-son, Charles Campbell of Washington state, two step-daughters, Mrs. Rose Wilson of Harrisville and Mrs. Hattie McFarlane of Bay City. Andrew Fraser of Greenbush is a cousin.
Mr. Campbell died suddenly; apparently he was in his usual health when he retired last night. He was partly clothed when found, death having apparently come without warning as he was dressing for the day.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
