MRS. MARY SPECHT
The angel of death has once more invaded our community and taken from our midst a beloved neighbor and friend Mrs. Mary Specht who was one of the first persons born in this township and in which she had lived all her life.
Mary Henri was born in Harrisville township on August 26, 1856, the daughter of John and Ann Henri who were among the first settlers of the Huron Shore region. She was married October 24, 1875 to Joseph Specht who preceded her in death on April 4, 1911.
To this union were born six children four of whom survive to mourn her loss: Joseph and Raymond of Harrisville, Mrs. Mate Anderson of Clarks Fork, Idaho, and Mrs. Louise Gapske, Flint. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Tuesday afternoon and the burial was in the Springport cemetery with the Rev. C. S. Brown in charge.
The large number of people who followed the remains was a testimonial of the high esteem in which the deceased was held by her numerous friends and neighbors.
