Mrs. Anna Bridgeman Taylor passed away in Battle Creek, October 13. She was nearly 92 years of age.
Mrs. Taylor was born in St. Marys, Ont., December 3rd., 1845. She had lived in Battle Creek the past thirty years and previous to that had lived in Harrisville for 40 years. She was the daughter of Robert and Jane Bridgeman. She was married to Joseph Taylor and they moved to Harrisville in 1870. Her husband died in February 1882. They had no children but took a year old baby girl and brought her up. (She was never legally adopted-Ida Taylor Swift.) Mr. Taylor built their home on State street in Harrisville near the M. E. Church, in 1881 and it is still remaining.
She leaves to mourn her lass two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Ludington, 90 years of age, and Mrs. Eliza Henson, 85 years old, both of Duluth, Minn. Both sisters had formerly lived in Harrisville for many years. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Mrs. Henry Bridgeman of Duluth, and many nephews and nieces.
Mrs. Taylor was a faithful member of the M. E. Church. Funeral services were held at the Farley Funeral Home in Battle Creek, Friday afternoon, Rev. M. Sanborn, a cousin of the deceased officiated. The body was taken by train to Harrisville where it was laid to rest beside her husband, in the family lot in Springport Cemetery. Relatives who accompanied her body to Harrisville were her nephew, Mr. Roy F. Bridgeman of Grandforks, North Dakota, Mrs. Henry Bridgeman, of Duluth; Mr. Ernest Briggs and son Charles F. Briggs, and Charles F. Briggs Jr., Mrs. Palmer Philip and Mrs. Swift all of Battle Creek.
