Death Takes Toll of Five, During Week

East Tawas--Funeral services for Captain Burrows, 75, who died at his home here Friday after an illness of several weeks, were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at his home. Burial was made in the East Tawas cemetery.
He leaves his widow and one son, Palmer; one brother, Andrews Burrows, of Port Austin and four grandchildren. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., Nov. 13, 1853 and was married to Jennie Swackhamer, in Port Huron, June 3, 1883. Captain Burrows served in the lighthouse service for 35 years. Coming from Harrisville he served as captain at the Tawas point light from 1910 until his retirement in 1923. He had resided in East Tawas since his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic lodge. His son, Palmer is a member of the life saving station at Tawas point.
