More on the marriage of Andrew Friend and Doris M. Garrett.
FRIEND--GARRETT
--------
Glennie--A very pretty wedding was performed at the M. E. Parsonage in Harrisville Saturday, May 20, by Rev. Brown when Miss Doris Garrett became the bride of Andrew Friend, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Friend, all of Glennie.
Their attendants were Maynard Garrett and Irene Friend.
After the ceremony, leaving the parsonage, they were surprised by the bride's uncle, Eli Spencer, and the fun started for the day. They all motored across to Glennie, where the bride's mother had a wedding dinner prepared. Two tables were set with appropriate decorations--candles and a wedding cake, with ornaments of bride and groom. The room was decorated with blue and white crepe paper, tulips, lilacs, bleeding hearts, and apple blossoms.
There were fifty relatives and a few schoolmates present. After dinner pictures were taken, and they received many beautiful gifts. They will start pioneering his 40-acre farm soon.
All wished them best of luck and all reported a good time. It was a full day. In the evening, all went to the Hall and enjoyed a wonderful play given by the Grangers, "Goin' Modern". It was surely worth seeing.
