GAUTHIER--HOLMES
--------
St. Anne's Church at Harrisville was the scene of a very pretty wedding at nine o'clock Saturday morning, when Miss Lillian Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Holmes of Harrisville, and Hector Gauthier, of Flint, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dolf Gauthier of Black River, were united in marriage. Rev. Father Narlock officiated.
Pink and white asters were beautifully arranged about the alter, and baskets of dahlias were placed about the room.
The bride was lovely in a white satin wedding dress with a double veil and train of silk net. She carried white roses and baby mums.
Her attendants were her sister, Miss Loretta Holmes, who wore a blue floor-length gown with short veil of soft pink, and carried pink roses and baby mums, and Miss Loretta Gauthier, sister of the groom, who wore a pink formal with a short veil of pale blue and carried pink roses and baby mums.
The groom's attendants were Ben Gauthier brother of the groom, and Joseph Holmes, brother of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents. In the evening a dance was given at Nicholson Hill Hall, which was attended by many friends of the bride and groom.
The happy couple left on a short wedding trip, after which they will make their home in Flint, where the groom is employed.
Among the out-of-town guests attending the wedding were: Mrs. Clyde Berry, Mrs. Henry Marshall, and sons, Mrs. Victor Beane, and Joseph Holmes, of Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Holmes of Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. Norman McClelland of Tawas; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gauthier, of Bay City; and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cadieux, of Flint.
