STINCHCOMBE--PETTIT
San Francisco, Calif.--The scene was the beautiful Treasure Island Navy Chapel, a candlelight wedding with white chrysanthemums gracefully bowing near the altar, and vivacious Jane Pettit, daughter of Mrs. Leona Orme, and Henry G. Stinchcombe, Fireman First Class, son of Mrs. Glen Stinchcombe of Harrisville, exchanging vows. It was an all-Navy wedding with the ushers, the friends of the nuptial couple, and the Executive Officer of the Transportation Pool where the bride and groom are stationed, gave away the bride. The wedding took place on October 28.
The bride, in a rich white satin gown, three-yard train, and fingertip veil, left the many guests breathless. She carried a lovely gardenia and orchid bouquet.
The matron of honor wore yellow satin with a net skirt and carried yellow roses and violets. The three bridesmaids each wore a gown of complementary hue-one salmon; on, blue; and one, pink; and carried matching bouquets.
After the wedding there was a dinner reception for thirty-five guests at the main dining room and ballroom at the Claremont Hotel in Berkeley, where Russ Morgan's orchestra is playing.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stinchcombe spent their honeymoon in San Francisco and the Bay Area. They will be home to their friends in their apartment in San Francisco.
