Resident Dies In Detroit

Alexander F. McRae of Greenbush, aged 70 years, died at 10:37 p. m. Monday at the East Side General Hospital in Detroit. He had been ill for the past nine months, and with Mrs. McRae they had been at the home of their daughter in Detroit during the winter months.
Mr. McRae was born in AuSable on April 23, 1879. His parents were the late Duncan and Isabel McRae, pioneer residents of this area. He attended Greenbush grade school and on August 5, 1908 he married Sadie Fraser at Greenbush. He operated a General Grocery Store in Greenbush for a number of hears and later went to Flint where he worked for General Motors in the Die Shop Plant No. 3, for 27 years. Ill health forced his retirement.
Mr. McRae served as Clerk for the Township of Greenbush for 14 years.
Fraternally he was a member of Alcona Lodge No. 292, f. & A. M. and was a Past Master of that organization.
Surviving are his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jefferson of Sandusky Ohio, and Mrs. Jean Kunow of Detroit. Four sisters also survive: Mrs. George Stevens of Greenbush; Mrs. Chas. Vyse of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Minnie Beach of Seattle, Washington, and Mrs. Wm. Baily of Olympia, Washington. Two grandchildren also survive: Sharon Kunow and Beth Ann Jefferson.
Funeral services are being held this (Thursday) afternoon. A prayer service at 1:45 at Smith's Funeral Parlors in Lincoln and Services at the Greenbush Community Church at 2:30 p. m. Rev. Webster of Harrisville and Rev. Burkholder of Alpena will officiate. Burial will take place in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
Services will be under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge.
