Haynes Church Honors

Haynes--A memorial service was held at the Haynes Presbyterian Church Sunday, June 26th to dedicate a Unitype Illuminated Cross to the memory of its former pastor, Rev. C. M. Boyce, and Mrs. Boyce. Inscribed on a plate attached to the bottom of the cross are the words "To the Glory of God and in memory of His Servants, Rev. and Mrs. C. M. Boyce. Dec. 2, 1900 - Dec. 31, 1933. The service was impressive, conducted by Rev. Howard Webster, their pastor.
Miss Gould was soloist and the choir sang "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross on Which the Prince of Glory Died."
Among those present were Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Boyce and son, and Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Coombs, Ossineke; Mrs. Millie Martin Dubie; Miss Esther Boyce, R. N., of Flint; Mrs. C. M. Boyce of Harrisville; Mrs. Alex McRae and Mrs. George Stevens of Greenbush; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Knuth of Oscoda; Mrs. Ada Fitzpatrick, Mrs. Margaret McConnell of Detroit. Many members of the Harrisville congregation also were in attendance. June 26th was the birthday of Rev. Boyce and of both Mr. and Mrs. Wm. G. Beever, whom he married. The Beevers were presented with a photograph of Rev. and Mrs. Boyce.
Sunday services are held each week at 12 o'clock and all are welcome.
