Mrs. Frank Cowell, 42, of Midland County, met death in a freak accident at her home July 11. She had been frying meat in her kitchen when grease spattered over her face and body. She apparently fainted from the grease fumes and several hours later she was found dead by her husband who had been working in the fields of their farm.
Mrs. Cowell was formerly Hazel B. Barlow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Barlow of Harrisville. She was born October 6, 1906 and had been in ill health most of her life.
Surviving are her husband, her parents, and four brothers: R. James Barlow of Detroit, Howard, Nelson and Darrell Barlow of Harrisville, and a sister, Mrs. Helen Hulsether of Flint.
Funeral services were held July 20 at Midland with burial in Midland cemetery.
