Mrs. Wellington Rouse, a resident of Greenbush for sixty years, died at 7:15 a. m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie Cummings in Harrisville. She was 92 years of age.
Jessie Wallace was the daughter of the late James and Janet Wallace. She was born August 3, 1857 in Glasgow, Scotland. She came to Canada with her parents at the age of fourteen and lived there until her marriage to Wellington Rouse which took place in Canada on May 2, 1878. Mr. Rouse died August 30, 1940. After sixty years residence in Greenbush she had lived with a daughter in Mt. Morris for ten years and only recently came to the Cummings home.
She was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.
Surviving are seven daughters and one son: Mrs. Jennie Cummings of Harrisville; Mrs. Susie Wise of Ottawa Lake; Walter Rouse of Greenbush; Mrs. Ezra Thompson of Flint; Mrs. Flossie Slaght of Bay City; Mrs. Louise Mott of Flint; Mrs. Hazel Johnson of California, and Mrs. George Mott of Mt. Morris. There are 29 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Funeral services are being held at two o'clock this Thursday afternoon from the Greenbush Union Church. Elder Marshall McGuire of the Mikado Latter Day Saints Church will officiate and burial will take place in Springport Cemetery, Harrisville.
Six grandchildren will act as pallbearers.
