The first case of polio in Alcona County made its appearance Saturday when Viggo Klein was stricken. His condition became worse and Tuesday morning it was diagnosed as polio. He was rushed by ambulance to the Saginaw County Hospital where a respirator was available. His condition is serious. His wife and mother are with him.
Mary Jane Forsythe, 7, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Forsythe of Harrisville Township was taken to Bay City Hospital Tuesday. She is suffering a milder case of polio, the lower limbs being affected.
