Flint Man Drowns In
Hubbard Lake Sunday

Edward Havlichek, 63, resident of Flint drowned in Hubbard Lake at the South End, Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Havlichek had just come to the lake to visit some friends and had brought a new out-board motor with him. His son and he had just returned from a boat ride, and leaving the son on the dock, he took the boat for a trial spin, and it overturned. His son watched from the shore, as his father came to the surface and made one attempt to reach the boat, and has not been seen since.
Sheriff Adair, volunteers and State Police have made attempts daily to recover the body, but due to the high winds and rough water no success has been attained. A State Police airplane has also assisted in the search.
Mr. Havlichek was using a ten-horse power motor on a twelve foot row boat, and it is thought that the high powered motor on the light boat caused the accident.
