Death claimed Frank Kohler, well known Florist of Barton City, on Saturday, October 22, at 10:00 a. m. Mr. Kohler passed away at the Alpena Hospital following a three months illness of cancer.
He was born in Detroit on July 6, 1877, the son of the late Anthony and Parmelia Kohler. He married Mary Erskin on September 1, 1909. Her death occurred a number of years ago. On March 4, 1940 he was married to Anna Hasson at Howell, Michigan.
Mr. Kohler was a florist by trade and came to Barton City from Plymouth, Michigan, in 1943. He established a greenhouse west of Barton City and has operated as Frank Kohler and Son, Greenhouse.
Surviving are his widow and two sons, Frank C. Kohler of Mikado, and George E. Kohler who was associated with his father in the florist business. Three sisters and two brothers also survive: Miss Lena Kohler, Mrs. Ray Terril and Miss Parmelia Kohler, all of Northville; Ernest Kohler of California and Fred of Plymouth.
Funeral services were held at 9:00 a. m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Church in Barton City. Elder Marshall McGuire of Mikado officiated. The body was taken to Plymouth and placed in a crypt.
Pallbearers were Henry VonFintel, William Hawes, Roy Ewing, Archie Cordes, Ernest Basselman and Emory McGregor.
