Richard E. Curtis, aged 81 years, died Monday at the home of his brother, Charles, in Curtisville. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ebenezer D. Curtis, first settles in that area and for whom the Township of Curtis was named in January 1881.
The deceased was born in 1868, and lived most of his life in this county, through the lumbering era and later engaged in farming.
Surviving are his brother, Charles, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Curtisville Baptist Church. Burial in Curtisville Cemetery.
