Lansing Man Fatally Injured In Hunting Accident

Alcona County has had one hunting fatality since the opening of deer season, November 15.
Robert Kirkpatrick, 22, was killed by a blast from a 12-gauge shotgun in the hands of his hunting companion, Lloyd Taylor of Battle Creek. The accident occurred about 3:00 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon. The victim died while enroute to Dr. Wagner's office in Lincoln.
Taylor appeared before Justice Haley in Harrisville, November 17 and pleaded to a charge of the reckless use of firearms. He paid a fine of $100.00 and costs of $4.30. He loses his hunting privileges for a period of five years.
