Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. Gertrude Walker passed away at four o'clock Tuesday morning, November 9, at the Alpena Hospital. Death resulted from arthritis and complications of which she was a patient sufferer for the past twenty-two years. She entered the hospital six days prior to her death.
Gertrude Burt was born on October 12, 1891 in Harrisville Township, the daughter of the late George and Mary Burt. In 1923 she moved to Detroit to make her home with her brother Sheridan, and later with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Apsey, and came to Lincoln with them in 1947.
She is survived by her daughter, June Apsey of Lincoln, one granddaughter, Jill Apsey, two brothers, Sheridan Burt of Harrisville, and Walter Burt of Lincoln, and her step-mother, Mrs. George Burt of Harrisville Township.
She was a member of Lake Huron Chapter No. 184, Order of the Eastern Star.
The body is at the Smith Funeral Home in Lincoln until the hour of services which will be held at the Lincoln Methodist Church at 2:00 p. m. Friday, December 2. Rev. Horace James will officiate and burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Harrisville.
Pallbearers will be Henry Miller, Arthur McIntyre, Arthur Galloway, Jos. Ouilette, George Ferguson and Clarence Travis.
