A. F. Affelt, Iosco Theatre
Owner, Dies

Andrew F. Affelt, owner of the Iosco Theatre in Oscoda, died of a heart ailment Monday at his home in that village. He had operated the theatre until a few days before his death.
Mr. Affelt was born in Germany on November 12, 1884. He came to Iosco County when four years old. In 1908 he established the first theatre in Oscoda. In 1911, after the AuSable-Oscoda fire he moved to St. Louis, Michigan, where he established another theatre. He returned to Oscoda in 1932 and opened the present Iosco Theatre which he has operated since that time.
Survivors are: his widow; three daughters, Miss Mildred of Detroit, Mrs. Verne Amley and Miss Roma Affelt of Oscoda; and one grandson, Terry.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Wilkin Funeral Home and at Sacred Heart Church. Rev. Father A. J. Narloch officiated and burial was in the Oscoda Catholic Cemetery.
