Spruce Resident Dies

Robert Sayers, a resident of Alcona County for 62 years, passed away Sunday, December 18, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Roy Pierson, on the North Shore Road, Harrisville, where he had been living the past year. Death came from a stroke.
Mr. Sayers was born in Saginaw County, September 10, 1871, coming to Alcona County with his parents, the late Samuel and Marian Sayers, at the age of sixteen.
Surviving relatives include two sons: Clyde of Hubbard lake and Rae of Detroit; three daughters: Mrs. Roy Pierson, Harrisville, Mrs. Herbert Clark, in California and Mrs. Ray Striker of Detroit; one sister, Mrs. Mae Roe of Lincoln; two brothers, Roy of Spruce and Bert of Flint; fifteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 21, from the Smith Funeral Home in Lincoln, Rev. H. A. Webster, of Harrisville, officiating, with interment in the Spruce Cemetery.
